Jack at 6 months

Jack is now six months old! At his checkup yesterday he weighed 18.3lbs (75th percentile) and was 25.5 inches long (12th percentile). He has slimmed down and gotten taller from his last visit. I was so surprised that he didn't weigh more. He didn't even gain a full two pounds since his four month check up. He did really good with his vaccinations and flu shot. In another month we go back for round two of the flu shot. Luckily Abby is old enough to do the flu-mist so she didn't get a shot. Jack can now officially crawl now too. Last Sunday (October 26th) he did his first real crawling. I was at work, but Dan said he crawled. The next day I saw it with my own eyes. He can do about three or four leg/arm rotations an then falls. He can get up though and do it again pretty quickly. Now he's on the move! The doctor said he's an early crawler and also saw the beginning  of his bottom two teeth. He said to expect teeth pretty soon.  We are so proud of our little Jack and all of his accomplishments!!!

I'm pooped!!!

So the other day Jack was in his jumper while I was getting ready for work. I look over and he had fallen asleep! He loves his jumper and jumped himself to sleep! I moved him to his crib and he slept a long time.

Riding the pink flying elephant, and having a blast!
Posing for Mom

He won a fish! Great job James!!!
Abby, Daddy and James

Yesterday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. We had a great time. They played some games, rode the train, went down a big slide and James won a fish. At first he named his fish Jared, then he changed it to Junior. I'm not quite sure how he picked those names, but he seems to like "J" names anyway. We got some great tips on how to carve some awesome designs into our pumpkins. Maybe we'll get motivated here and try them out. If we do I'll be sure and post pictures.

Check me out!

Jack can now officially sit up on his own! Once I prop him up he's good for a while by himself. He still has some trouble keeping his balance so sometimes he still falls over. He really enjoys sitting and playing with his toys.

Tea Anyone?

After the bath the other night I got both kids into their jammies. Abby then set up a lovely tea party for Jack and herself. Without me saying anything she picked blue for Jack and pink for herself. She often times picks colors based on what the person is wearing, so maybe that's how she came up with the color choice. I have a feeling this won't be the last tea party Jack attends!!!

Trying to crawl

Jack has figured out how to rock his body back and get up on all fours now. Once he's up he tries so hard to crawl. Sometimes he gets one leg forward, but then he doesn't realize that he needs to move his arms so he just faceplants into the carpet! I have yet to see him actually go more than the one step, so it's not an official crawl. He's definitely  getting close though.

Bath Time!!!

Not sure if I like this yet...
Oh, yes I do!!!
"Killing two birds with one stone"...two baths at once! Not supposed to do it this way (at least the directions on the bath tub do not recommend it), but works great for me.
I took Jack out of the bath to get him dressed. I come back in the bathroom to find Abby in his bathtub. She thinks it's so much fun to take a bath like a baby!!!

Yummy!!!!

These are some pictures of Jack eating his first rice cereal. I don't think he liked it which really surprised me considering how much he loves to eat! We've kept at it and now he does better with it and doesn't make such a strange face each time.

Jack In the jumper

So we got the jumper out of the attic the other day for Jack to play with. At first I don't think he knew what was going on, but he warmed up to it real soon! Now he likes his jumper, but only for a few minutes at a time. He really likes it when Abby stands in front of him and jumps with him.
