Santa Picture 2009

Yesterday we took the kids to see Santa. All of the kids liked him. They took a ton of pictures and this one turned out the best. Jack is not smiling which is funny because he liked Santa, said hello and goodbye to him, but he would not smile at all. Usually Jack is the only one we can count on to take a good picture. He always smiles...just not for Santa!

Yard Work

Every Sunday Dan and Jack mow the lawn. At first Jack would take Abby's stroller and push it next to Dan. He would get so frustrated because it's little wheels wouldn't go smoothly over the grass. Dan then decided to let him hold on the the real mower with him. Jack loved it! The next week we surprised Jack with a little lawn mower of his own. He really likes it! He is always pushing it around even inside and not on the grass when outside. Now on Sunday's when the boys do their yard work they can both push their mowers. Although, even with his own mower he seems to still like pushing the real one with Dan!

Abby's first day of preschool

About three weeks ago Abby started preschool. These pictures were taken her first day in front of the school. Her teacher is Mrs. Mirtle and she loves school so far. She looks forward to going and likes her new friends. Abby picked out this outfit herself. She wanted to wear her new monkey shirt and a skirt. I thought it looked pretty good considering a three year old dressed herself. We had a slight problem that morning with her shoes. She kept thinking that all of them were going to give her blisters. I told her I didn't care which ones she wore, as long as she just picked something!

Soooo Tired

These pictures are too cute not to share. Jack had only napped for about 10 minutes one day and as I left for work I told my Mom how tired he was but still refused to take a nap. After I left for work he fell asleep on the kitchen floor! My Mom took these pictures and continued to make dinner around him. 45 minutes later he woke up nice and refreshed!

Downtown HB

Every Tuesday night they close off Main street in Downtown HB and have local vendors, food and fun activities for the kids. I have never been, so one Tuesday I took the kids. It was crowded! We went down the pier to Ruby's for dinner. After we walked the street and the kids got their faces painted. They also went into a giant inflatable obstacle course. After that we went to Cold Stone for dessert where Papa Jack met up with us. It was a fun night.

The lady who paints their faces puts glitter on Abby's lips. Then she won't smile because she is so worried about her lips. You should have seen her eating her ice cream after! She was trying so hard not to mess up her lips.

4th of July

On the 4th of July I had to work during the day, so these are pictures of the night. Jillonnie and her family came over to my parent's house to swim. When I got home we ate some BBQ for dinner. Then we went for a bunny walk with Me, Abby, Jack, James, Jillonnie, Shelby, River, June, Bonnie, Kalyn, Ireynne, Julie & Audrey. It was quite a sight to see all of us and our strollers (me with a double) walking the horse trails counting bunnies. (When we stayed at my parent's house we went on a bunny walk every night). After the bunny walk we ate dessert and got ready for fireworks. It was such a fun day. I only wish I could have been there for the swimming in the day. But I'm glad I didn't miss the night though! I love the 4th of July!

Every time a firework went off Jack would flinch. It was great!
June and the firework is called a June Bug...just like what we call her!
Julie doing a sparkler
Matt helping Abby with her sparkler
Even Papa Jack participates!
Bonnie and Marilyn watching fireworks

I'm not sure Jack fully understood what was going on.

The Wetlands

So I am not a big lover of birds, but I thought we would go to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands one morning since I have lived here my whole life and never gone. There were definitely a lot of birds, and I had a heavy stroller to push on that gravel road! It got hot after a while so we had to turn back because I just couldn't do it anymore!
